The Community Services department
The Community Services department is immediately
accountable to the Personal Ministries Department,
caters to the temporal needs of the wider community.
It currently places emphasis on the following:
Baby Welcome Ministry
Providing a measure of assistance to homeless and/or battered mothers with infants. Devising ways and means of welcoming new-born infants into the community.Bereavement Ministry
Ministering to the grieving in the community.Coat Drive
The department leaders decided not to wait until the fall to start collecting coats to assist the homeless and needy.Clothing Collection and Redistribution
The success of this program has created the need for more closet and shelf space.CROP Walk
Our Community Services Department decided it should join the annual CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk in Englewood, linking with other faith communities to raise awareness of the need to feed the hungry internationally and locally. The response by our church membership was overwhelming, with thousands of dollars raised as scores of members participated as sponsored walkers.Community Health and Well-Being Day
There are free screenings of Blood Pressure, Dental, Diabetes, Podiatry, Prostate and Psychological exams information on Health Insurance, Nutrition and Cancer Education for men and women.
