“And all the children shall be taught of the Lord:
and great shall be the peace of the children” Isaiah 54:13
The Christian Education Department of the Community Seventh-day Adventist Church has 2 main objectives: 1) To promote Christian education, and 2) provide assistance to families with children in public schools. By developing a variety of programs, we expose our students to the arts, sciences and sports in a Christian environment, in order to provide physical, mental, spiritual, social and vocational education with God as the source of all moral value and truth.” Ministry Description Brochure 2002.
In 2013, the Christian Education Department established its own Honor Society to encourage academic excellence. The Honor Society does not only serve as a method for student acknowledgment, but it also promotes a sense of responsibility to our community through good works. The Christian Education Department also sponsors a co-ed basketball team for ages 9 – 14, to encourage good health through physical fitness. Our six-weeks summer camps are held in the evenings and expose the kids to art and sciences. We not only encourage academic excellence, but we celebrate student success by hosting student dinners, field trips and events to acknowledge and reward their achievements.
Lastly, the Christian Education Department is an advocates for Christian education from grade school through college. With our scholarship programs, we provide an opportunity to help ease some of the financial strain. The Christian Education Incentive awards an annual gift to every members’ child attending an Adventist school. We have great hopes to be able to offer additional financial support as the Lord blesses with additional donations from like-minded individuals. Please feel free to donate to the Christian Education Department when giving back to the Lord. Our ministry is one appointed by God and crucial to the spiritual and academic edification of each student.
We are dedicated, because we believe that what we do will help win a soul for Christ.
